The Artist
"A man should never be ashamed to say he has been in the wrong, which is but saying in other words that he is wiser than he was yesterday." My name is Betty Hagen and I am a miniature artisan. I was born in Hong Kong many years ago and came to the United States when I was 6. I am practically a native San Franciscan, having lived there all my life. Honestly I used to hate dolls when I was a child. That all changed when I went to the University of California, Santa Cruz to study. Dolls had become a distraction and a hobby ever since I laid my eyes on my little blue haired Blythe. I started making miniatures in 2005 from my love of unusual dolls, mainly Blythes and ball joint dolls. Live Mini is born from that love of dolls and miniatures. I love to experiment and design. I currently make miniatures of all sizes (1/3" real life size to 1/24" real life size) as well as accessories for dolls and humans. I also make the occasional clothing pieces for dolls and humans too whenever I have the time. The actual location of Live Mini had changed and will probably continue to change but the basic principles of Live Mini is the same: providing handmade miniatures made as realistic as possible. I am currently a member and guest instructor of CDHM (Custom Doll Houses and Miniatures) since 2007 and a member of IGMA (International Guild of Miniature Artisans) since 2010. I am also a member of Artisans in Miniature (AIM), Den of Angels (DOA), and many other doll forums. |
