Live Mini Studio Tour

Welcome to my small and humble studio! I can finally say that I cleaned the art room enough to take a picture of all of it for my viewers out there.

Feel free to take a look around. If you want detailed notes of what is on my desks, click on the image and it would take you straight to the flickr link where they are stored. It is just easier that way.

So now, onwards with the tour!

Clay room

I have a giant U desk that most artists would be proud of have! The first picture is a picture of the first part: the office. It is a busy place but I managed to keep it tidy for once in my life. I tacked my business license on top (finally got it at last!) and you can see my book collection on top too. It has since changed on the right anyway to cookbooks.

Here is where all the work stays if I am lucky. I usually make all the clay goods here and then from here go straight into the toaster oven (not pictured.) On a busy day, the oven is on for 8 hours a day! This desk I fear can never be clean completely for pictures. Wah!

This is my photo taking/mini storage desk. All the stock for now is stored in those little drawers once baked. I need to get more of those, and next time get the one with 64 drawers instead of this dual drawer system. It is good, but it also drive me nuts!

So that is the clay room. Now we are touring the sewing room (a.k.a. the garage/laundry room.) This is a room that I carved out of necessity since you can't really sew and work on clay in the same room without having the clay bits stuck everywhere. Sigh...

This is the main work area. Notice that there is room underneath the desk to tuck fabric in. There are room for the dolls to "stretch out" and dress the new items, so to speak. I feel bad that some of them live in the garage now, but at least they would be clothed with the new stuff I make.

Next to it is my collection of reference sewing books and sewing patterns. I still make my own patterns but it is nice to look at the others.

The best part about working in the garage is it is cool, I cannot stay there too long simply because the lighting sucks otherwise, and I can wash all my things as soon as they are done. My work space is right next to my washer/dryer. Everything will be washed before and after sewing, even the silk stuff even though they need to be thoroughly dry cleaned.

I hope that you enjoyed my little tour and I hope you have a wonderful day!
